most replies WON'T come from email one.

they come from email 3, 4, or 5.

your prospect's inbox has 100 other pitches sitting in it. they're not ignoring you. they just didn't see it.

if you stop after email one or two, you've wasted the entire setup.

here's the sequence:

EMAIL 1: initial outreach (PPQ framework)

use the template from Section 1. this is your opening.

EMAIL 2: reminder + value add (day 3)

add something new. a case study. a fresh insight. a relevant article.

[FIRST NAME],

wanted to share something relevant — [SPECIFIC INSIGHT OR CASE STUDY].

[ONE SENTENCE explaining why it matters to them].

still think there's a conversation here if the timing works.

[YOUR NAME]

filled example:

Sarah,

wanted to share something relevant — we just finished a campaign for a SaaS team your size where we tested 5 different subject line formats. the one that worked was 3 words, no personalisation token.

their reply rate went from 1.2% to 4.8%.

still think there's a conversation here if the timing works.

Richard

nobody wants to see "just bumping this!" in their inbox. that adds zero value and looks lazy. every follow-up must give them a reason to engage.

EMAIL 3: ask for feedback (day 6)

make it easy to respond without committing.

[FIRST NAME],

not sure if this was off base or just bad timing — either way, no worries.

if outbound is something you're thinking about for [QUARTER/YEAR], happy to share what we're seeing work.

[YOUR NAME]

this is disarming. it gives them an exit. and weirdly, that makes people MORE likely to reply.

EMAIL 4: light scarcity (day 10)

gentle urgency. not fake countdown timers.

[FIRST NAME],

we've got a couple of spots open this week if a quick chat would be useful.

if not, totally understand — happy to reconnect when the timing's better.
